#AMonthofFaves [The 2018 Favorites Edition]– e.g. to eat, drink, wear, smell, see, do, enjoy, best purchases, most used gift received, most used purchases, favorite concert, outdoor activity, place visited, most squee worthy moment of the year.
WELCOME to #AMonthofFaves 2018! Tanya Patrice, Kim, Tamara, and I are so excited that you’re here. This first prompt might be my favorite of all the prompts, so I am more than ready to dive in. Here’s my 2018 favorites highlight reel:
Favorite makeup find:
BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream is the perfect everyday “foundation” product for me. My skin is pretty good. I don’t usually have too many blemishes, but I do like a quick fix to even out my skin tone and make me look more awake. I find that the Complexion Rescue is perfect for this. I do have dry skin, so it really works for me that this is hydrating, light, and has SPF built in since I’m terrible at remembering to put sun protection on. I also really like that I can apply it with my fingers and it looks great. I do have to rub it in pretty well, and it warms up and looks more natural the more I apply it. I bought mine in-store at Ulta, but I used Sephora’s color descriptions and Shade Finder tool to see where to start. I ended up the color 02 Vanilla, for light skin with neutral undertones. I’m definitely not a fan of this one when it comes to the limited shade range in darker skin tones. Get your shit together on that front, BareMinerals.
SojournerUSA by Retrowtures traveler’s notebooks and folios are beautiful! I purchased my first one this year, and I carry it religiously. Go me, with the puns, since it holds my Scripture writing notebooks. I also picked up two second-hand Sojourner traveler’s notebooks in the B6 slim size, and I could not love them more. Finally, I have a standard Midori-sized TN in the Lily of the Valley crackled leather that is just gorgeous. I had the pleasure of meeting Rowena back during the summer, and she’s just a wonderful, warm person. Plus!
Eskarina Smith Paperwhite, my Kindle Paperwhite! Bonus points if you can figure out where her name came from. Amazon Prime Day really got its hooks in me when I purchased my first Kindle. I am so glad, though, because as I wrote in a previous post, it saved my reading life in a very real way. I barely read from March of this year to the summer, but once this device landed in my life, all was well.
Prima Watercolor Confections sets…especially the Tropical! I picked up my first set of these after seeing them on Instagram. They come in themed tins of 12 colors, and my first purchase was the Tropicals. There’s a slight variation in cost of the various sets, but on the whole they are very affordable, unique colorways, and good quality. If you’re thinking of trying watercolors, or you’re new or intermediate, I think they’re a beautiful choice. I did this quick floral painting with this set, and I just love the blend of colors.
Alright, friends, it’s go time. What are some of your 2018 favorites? I can’t wait to see what you have to share! Add your link with the button down below!

I’ve loved seeing your art on Instagram. I am not artistic at all so am in awe of people who are.
Andi
Awww, thank you! I let the talent rust for a very long time, but I’m glad I’ve gotten back to it.

I love my Kindle too, and really need to use it more. I have so many books on there so don’t have any excuse….well, except I do. 😉
Andi
Ohhhh yes, I know all about that “no excuse…except I do.” I’m right there with you and the digital collection just keeps growing.

Hey we are makeup buddies. I’ve been wearing the complexion rescue foundation for the last year too and love it because it just looks so natural. Love your TNs… I’m just started a new one but would really like to get one with a bright color leather.
Andi
Woohoo! You are a great makeup buddy to have! This is the first Bare Minerals product I’ve tried, but I’m excited to try out more. I am ALL ABOUT natural! Foxy Fix has beautiful bright colors, but I prefer Chic Sparrow myself. Do share if you get a bright one!

I need to get back into painting for fun. I’m not that great at it- but it provides a creative release that I enjoy!
Andi
Yes! And that’s the most important thing. And the byproduct of doing it…improvement happens even when we don’t realize it!
Sharlene
That is one gorgeous notebook!
Andi
