I’m going rogue! We knew it had to happen eventually, yes? 2019 is decidedly goal-less when it comes to reading challenges. I’ll probably shoot for the usual 50-60 books read for the year, but other than that…zilch! I have plenty of personal and professional and spiritual goals, but the reading-specific ones have to take a backseat. Instead, let’s talk about my WORD for 2019! I’m certain it was Kim from Sophisticated Dorkiness who first inspired me to pick one little word.

1: an ample quantity an abundant amount PROFUSION city that has an abundance of fine restaurants

This ain’t no prosperity gospel, y’all, but it is an attempt at balance. 2018’s word, if you remember, was “relentless”. I was exactly that in 2018. I was politically driven: I volunteered, I was on the phone with my representatives, I wrote postcards out the wahoo, and I even had signs in my yard. I was relentless on behalf of my child. I have a wicked-smart ADHD baby who is rocking his schooling. However, there was no shortage of advocacy for him in 2018. There was a lot of relentlessness all around. Lots.

However, 2019, while still being politically engaged, focused, and goal-driven, also needs to have some balance in the mix. As y’all know, I’ve been writing the New Testament, and it hit me one day that “abundance” is this year’s word. Sometimes I don’t know what the word is until the very last minute, but going into 2019, I’ve known for months. MONTHS!

What does it mean live in abundance in 2019?

–Living from a place of joy and fullness

–Lifting others up

–Allowing myself to “think big”

–Embracing change

–Being proactive

–Learning and digging deep for wisdom

It’s such a positive, buoying word isn’t it? Cheers to staying afloat!
